Terms & Conditions

DRIVER

All drivers must be between the ages of 25 and 70. All drivers must have held a full UK licence for a minimum of 3 years. For hire of larger motor-homes the driver must have C1 entitlement on their licence. This is included on all licences for those who passed their test prior to January 1st 1997.

INSURANCE

Comprehensive Insurance is provided for one driver as part of the hire agreement. There is a £1250 excess which must be paid by the hirer following any incident where an insurance claim is made. Additional drivers may be added at extra cost.

OIL, COOLANT AND LEVELS

The hirer will be responsible for maintaining the correct level of oil, coolant and other levels such as power steering etc. Failure to do so may result in engine damage or component failure for which the hirer shall be responsible.

TYRES

It is the hirer's responsibility to maintain tyre pressures to the set rating. Any damage to the tyres, howsoever caused will be the responsibily of the hirer, as will any accidental damage caused by failure to maintain pressures, or by careless driving.

SECURITY DEPOSIT

A security deposit of £1250 is taken to cover any damage to the motor-home or its' contents or equipment. When the motor-home is returned it will be inspected and once deemed to be in satisfactory condition as agreed, the deposit will be returned in full, either by card or cheque. The following demonstrates some reasons why the deposit may not be returned in full:

  • Toilet cassette not emptied - £50
  • Broken door mirror - £140
  • Dirty shower / toilet area - £30

This list is just an indication of causes that would force us to retain some of the security deposit. - We understand that there will always be the odd occasion where it is impossible to return the vehicle in the same condition as when you picked it up, however we believe that we operate a fair system to rectify any problems.

BOOKING PROCEDURE

A £300 deposit is taken on confirmation of your booking which is deducted from the final invoice amount. The remainder of the hire becomes due 28 days prior to the commencement of your holiday. The security deposit is taken on collection of the motor home, and is fully refundable subject to no damage.

BREAKDOWN

Our vehicles are maintained to a very high standard both mechanically and habitation areas. We also inspect our vehicles every six weeks to ensure your holiday is fault free; however there may be an occasion that a component may fail. Full details of what to do in this unlikely event will be discussed with you at the time of handover, and is included in the vehicles instruction pack. If repairs are required, the hirer is authorised to instruct repairs to a maximum £100 without consent of the company. Above this, the work must be authorised by the company before any work is undertaken otherwise the hirer will be responsible for the full cost of repair. If under £100 the hirer must keep a full invoice and receipt which will be refunded on return of the vehicle.

ACCIDENTS

In the event of an accident the safety of the hirer and their party is paramount.Emergency services must be called first if necessary, for example: if someone is injured or there are any vehicles damaged and in a dangerous location. Once this has been addressed and all parties are safe you should contact the company.

Regardless of how minor the accident may seem, full details of anyone involved, and details of witnesses if any, should be noted down in the accident log kept in the vehicle. This is the responsibility of the hirer. If the accident is serious causing damage to the vehicle, another vehicle or third party, the company must be informed.

FUEL, GAS, AND OTHER CONSUMMABLES

The vehicle will be supplied with a full tank, and should be returned with a full tank. If the gauge is not showing full, it will be refuelled and a charge will be made for the cost of such plus £25 administration costs. Two gas cylinders are supplied with the vehicle, one full and should be returned as such. If more gas is required, this is the responsibility of the hirer, in either case two cylinders should be returned with the vehicle.

SMOKING

SMOKING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN ALL AREAS OF THE MOTORHOME. Failure to adhere to this will result in a fee of £500 to cover cleaning and fumigating and time off the road to complete such work.

DOGS AND OTHER PETS

Dogs are permitted in some of our motor-homes. You will be asked the size of your dog, as some motor-homes are not suitable for large dogs; others are not designated for dog use. If you have other pets that you wish to take with you, please contact us. The carriage of any pet will not be permitted where the company feels that the animals' welfare would be at risk or the vehicle not suitable for the animals' comfort.

MILEAGE/EUROPEAN TRAVEL

There is no charge for mileage; however any trip involving travelling abroad must be agreed with the company at time of booking, with the countries that you are planning to visit. This is due to the tracker systems fitted to the vehicle which each have to be programmed in advance. Wandering from agreed routes will result in the vehicle sending an alert message to the Police, and shutting itself down. If you should inadvertently wander off the designated areas and the vehicle locks itself down, call the company as we can remotely access the vehicle to get you going again.

COLLECTION AND RETURN

The motor-homes are available for collection from 2pm on the first day of rental, and are to be returned by 10am on the last day of rental. Secure parking is available for one vehicle free of charge at the hirers' own risk. Upon return of the motor-home a damage inspection will be given with the hirer present to assess any reason for the loss of security deposit. If satisfactory, the deposit will be refunded in full. If the vehicle is returned early for whatever reason, no refund will be given of the hire fee.

CANCELLATIONS

If for whatever reason the hirer wishes to cancel their holiday we must be notified in writing and the following penalties incurred:

  • More than 4 weeks from start of holiday - Loss of £300 deposit
  • Between 2-4 weeks before the start of holiday - 50% of total hire charge
  • 2 weeks or less - 100% of hire charge.

AVAILABILITY

If for whatever reason the hired motor-home is not available to the hirer on the day of collection the company will endeavour to source an alternative vehicle with equivalent or higher specification. In this instance, no additional charge will be made to the hirer. If this is impossible then the hire amount will be refunded in full and the contract of hire terminated. This is the extent of the company's' liability in this case.

EVENTS DURING HIRE

The hirer is fully responsible for all events that take place whilst the vehicle is in their custody or control. Any offences committed or fines incurred during the hire period will be the responsibility of the hirer and will be redirected to the hirers' given address. The company reserves the right to furnish the relative authorities with any details that they ask for in such an event.

The vehicle shall be driven in a careful and skilful manner at all times, and shall not be used for racing, pace making or any other activity except domestic and pleasure purposes. The hirer shall at no time pass custody onto any other person, or allow any unauthorised person to drive the vehicle. The vehicle must be locked when unattended and any security devices activated.

EXCLUSIONS OF LIABILITY

The company shall not under any circumstances be liable to make any payment to the hirer in respect of, or to indemnify the hirer against loss, injury or damage sustained by the hirer or any third party as the result of the presence, or the use of the vehicle or as a result of any defects therein and in taking delivery of the vehicle the hirer shall have deemed themselves satisfied in all respects that it is in proper and roadworthy condition. Use of the roof/rear ladder of the vehicle is entirely at the hirers' own risk and is not recommended, although built to take reasonable weight, the surface may be slippery. The company does not accept for any damage to the hirer or any third party as set out above.
