Holiday Ideas
There is always a great time to take a motor home holiday – that is the beauty of motor homes! You can go wherever you wish, whatever the season.
We have compiled some ideas to help you plan your holiday, or decide where you wish to travel to. There are many things to do in various different areas of both the UK and Europe. We listed three categories, Devon and Cornwall (For local, low carbon Touring) The UK and Europe.
Devon and Cornwall.
The neighbouring counties of Devon and Cornwall hold a vast cache of beautiful beaches, rugged moorland, and peaceful villages. You can tour the moors, and see the animals that wander wild across the roads. Exceptional at any time of the year. The moors are well renowned for its changing beauty with the seasons. So whether you love a great sunset, wish to see the purple carpet of heather, or the crisp icy frost covering, there is always a fantastic view to behold.
Both Devon and Cornwall have a huge array of picturesque fishing villages. From Devon’s infamous Clovelly – a small village not changed for thousands of years. Not even a road ruins the scene. Even today, this fully functioning village works by horse and cart delivering goods up and down the hill. Cornwall has a buzzing community of Fowey (pronounced ‘foy’) full of narrow streets and meandering hills. Every corner hides another trail, famous for its sailing and maritime history and of course its own author Daphne Du Maurier, who wrote ‘Jamaica Inn’ which still stands at Bolventor.
There is so much to see and do in Devon and Cornwall whatever the weather! Discover the Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Michaels Mount, Pendennis Castle, Dartmoor’s Miniature Horse Centre, Historical City of Exeter, Antique haven of Honiton or maybe Crealy Adventure Park, Paradise Park or Flambards will keep the children entertained!
United Kingdom
You don’t have to go far to enjoy a break away, and the UK hides some fantastic treasures whatever the season – in fact off peak touring can sometimes be the best with cheaper touring sites, less tourist traffic and no queues!
You can tour Thomas Hardy country in Dorset, and see the county that inspired such time tested novels. Stand outside Judge Jeffery’s Restaurant in Dorchester, where the famous Judge Jeffery condemned many a man, including the martyrs from nearby Tolpuddle. Poole and Bournemouth are nearby with famous Pool Pottery.
Then maybe head for the Sussex and take in Vibrant Brighton, see the scenes from the Battle of Hastings, then head further along to Tunbridge Wells, the scene from ‘The Darling Buds of May’ TV series that launched a very famous actresses career!
Head for the Welsh mountains, climb Snowdonia and
take in the breath taking views. Travel down old
mines and see how the miners lived their daily
lives. Head for Blackpool and see the illuminations

at least once in a lifetime!
Head right for Scotland and take in the Highland Fling, the Tattoo, taste some haggis, tatties and neeps from their very origins. Makes Burns night far more authentic.
